ASTORIA – The Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted its festive and well-attended Christmas party on December 8 at Anemos Restaurant in Astoria. The event brought together the organization’s members, family and friends to usher in the season with warm wishes and holiday cheer. Attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, drinks, music by DJ Sava, and dancing throughout the evening, as well as a visit from Santa Claus distributing the event’s raffle gifts.
Aktina FM interviewed Demetrios Comodromos, the Vice President of the Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who provided information regarding the role of the Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the actions it has taken to fulfill its mission during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Paycheck Protection Program prioritizes millions of Americans employed by small businesses by authorizing up to $349 billion toward job retention and certain other expenses. Small businesses and eligible nonprofit organizations, Veterans organizations, and Tribal businesses described in the Small Business Act, as well as individuals who are self-employed or are independent contractors, are eligible if they also meet program size standards.

The Chamber will be honoring Anthoula Katsimatides and Lyons Mortgage Services, Inc. and with the Distinguished Merit Award. Assemblyman Michael Tannousis will be the recipient of the Cypriot Young Professionals Award.
